Update: 

The timeline for the development of the 2021-2022 budget has now been fully approved.  Decisions on the timeline were made at the November 30, 2020, December 14, 2020 and April 6, 2021 Board meetings.

Divisional Budget

The link below is to the Divisional Budget document for the development of the 2021-2022 Annual Budget.  The three columns in the document are (left to right) the preliminary annual budget for 2020-2021, the Year to Date actual results to April 30, 2021 and the Draft Base Budget for 2021-2022.  The Draft Base Budget is the detail for the Summary Schedules (2, 2A and 2B) on page 7-9 of the Draft Annual Budget for 2021-2022 released to stakeholder groups on May 12th, 2021. 

2021/2022 Budget Timeline

The budget email address (budget2021-2022@vsb.bc.ca)  is now active for accepting written submissions regarding budget priorities for development of the 2021-2022 operating budget.  For background, please refer to the Budget Development Process document ().  All written submissions to the Board are considered to be public documents.  The Board, therefore, reserves the right to make any submissions available to the public.

The Board received a  on March 29, 2021 at a Special Board meeting.  ().  Questions or comments on the draft budget for the Committee of the Whole meetings scheduled for April 6 and 15, 2021 are also submitted through this email address.

Those who wish to participate in the on-line Committee of the Whole Board meetings, presenting on budget priorities or regarding the draft status quo budget, must register by sending an email to budget2021-2022@vsb.bc.ca .  Your  email must be received by our office by 4:30 pm on the Wednesday before the Committee of the Whole Board meeting date.  Please indicate if you will be presenting on behalf of a group and include the name of the group, if applicable.  Your registration  will be confirmed by the Secretary Treasurer’s Office through this budget email address, and technical support will be provided as required.  

Budget Engagement Summary Report:

The online engagement 2021-2022 budget development survey was available between February 9 and February 19, 2021 and is now complete.

Engagement with the District’s formal stakeholder groups and the broader public is part of the annual budget development process. Please see the for the 2021-2022 Budget Development Engagement.
